Aisha Eyecare wants to build a useful volunteer network around eye health, community outreach, research, fundraising and local knowledge. We particularly value people who can strengthen work in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya.
Different skills can protect sight.
Clinical work must be carried out by appropriately qualified professionals, but a strong eye-care charity also needs people who can organise, communicate, research, fundraise and build trusted local relationships.
Eye-care professionals
Optometrists, ophthalmologists, orthoptists, dispensing opticians, ophthalmic nurses and technicians.
Students & trainees
Students in relevant health disciplines who want to support safe, supervised projects or research.
Community outreach
People with trusted local networks who can help with awareness, mobilisation and practical coordination.
Languages
Somali, Amharic, Oromo, Kiswahili and English speakers who can support accessible communication.
Fundraising
People experienced in grants, community fundraising, corporate partnerships or donor communications.
Digital & communications
Website, social media, design, photography, video, storytelling and digital campaign skills.
Research & data
Help us understand need, map services, measure impact and avoid making decisions based on assumptions.

Safeguarding, finance, compliance, charity governance, logistics and responsible overseas programme management.
